Jonah and the big fish

Jonah and the fish

A long time ago there was a man named Jonah who lived in the land of Israel; One Faithful day, he had an assignment from God, God required Jonah to go to a city called Nineveh. Nineveh was one of the most influential city at that time, and God wanted to send Jonah to warn the people of Nineveh to turn away from their evil ways. Jonah didn’t act right, and he disobeyed God.

Instead, Jonah got onto a ship and went to a different place far away from Nineveh called Tarshish; Jonah was trying to hide from God.

While Jonah was on the ship, a storm filtered around him, and it shook and blew the ship from side to side that the sailor feared the vessel would break and sink. The crew prayed to their gods, but the storm grew worst. Below deck they found Jonah sleeping, “Get up and say a prayer to your God” The Captain screamed at Jonah, and he said to another cast lots, and one of the lots fell on Jonah.

The Sailors asked Jonah to confess as to what he has done to cause this great storm. Jonah replied to the sailors that he is running away from God and requested for the sailors to hurl him overboard into the waters to save themselves. The sailors ignored his request and tried to row hard against the wind but they couldn’t so they prayed to God for forgiveness and for what they are about to do, then they tossed Jonah into the sea.

God revered Jonah. Consequently, he sent a big fish to swallow Jonah. Would you have the capacity to imagine being inside a big fish? Inside the fish was dull, and squishy, and had a fragrance like the ocean! While Jonah was inside the fish for three days, he always prayed to ask God to summoned the fish to spit him up onto the shore.

God still required Jonah to go to Nineveh, along these lines Jonah obeyed God. Jonah told the overall public of Nineveh that their selfish and evil ways had made God angry and that God would destroy them if they do not change their ways, the all-inclusive community was dismal, and they begged for God to forgive and have mercy. God so love his people that he forgave them and decided not to destroy them.
