We asked kids to tell us the story of Jesus being baptized in their own words.
In this story, Jesus traveled to the Jordan River, where John the Baptist was preaching and baptizing. Jesus asked John to baptize him. At first John said no; instead, he needed to be baptized by Jesus. But Jesus explained that he needed to be baptized by John to fulfill all the commandments of God and to set an example for God’s children.
When we are baptized, our sins are washed away. When we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, we are promised the constant companionship of God’s love and guidance.
